A loan of $775 helped to buy more boxes of syrups and tablets for her clinic.

Mary's story

Mary is married, with three children. Two of her children go to school. She has a drug clinic and has been in this business for ten years.

She has applied for a loan of UGX 2,000,000/= (Uganda shillings) from Micro Credit for Development and Transformation SACCO (MCDT SACCO) to buy more boxes of syrups and tablets.

Mary works in a shop that she rents. She sells on a retail basis, seven days out of every week. She doesn’t have any other income-generating activity. Her major business challenges include seasonality, taxes, and defaulters.

She is aspiring to own a fully-stocked clinic and also build a rental house which will house the clinic. She resides in her own house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and rent for her business premises.
