Mwale Group's story

Pili, who is in her late 30s, is a married mother of three children. She has one son and two daughters, all of whom go to school. She has been running a pub for three years now. She works from 3 p.m. to midnight. She is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be Pili's third loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to buy more beverages such as beer and sodas. She has paid back all her loans successfully. She will use this loan to buy more spirits and to renovate her pub. She dreams of buying another pikipiki (motorbike).

Pili will share this loan with her loan group "Mwale," which has 14 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
