Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $500 helped to buy vegetables to sell.

Hai's story

Hai is a 53 year old married woman. She lives with her six children, five sons and a daughter, and husband in Ho Chi Minh City. Her husband earns money as a driver for hire. For twenty years, she has run a grocery store, selling vegetables to people in her community.

Hai would like a loan to purchase better quality vegetables at competitive prices from wholesalers. She hopes that this will enable her to better meet the needs of her customers and attract additional customers.

She also hopes that through her loan she will be able to increase her income and save money for any future difficulties her family may face.
