Victorious G Group's story

Victorious G group has 10 farmers and is located in Bungoma South District. Margaret, the group's representative, is pictured on the right of Victorious G Group, with her hand raised. The group is comprised of the two men and eight women pictured here. Margaret will receive inputs on credit, sufficient to plant ½ an acre with sorghum, millet, and maize.

Margaret first enrolled with One Acre Fund during the 2010 Long Rains and is now preparing to be a One Acre Fund farmer during the 2013 Long Rains season. Margaret joined One Acre Fund in order to gain access to hybrid seed and fertilizer and use her increased profits to send her children to school. Margaret describes her last year's harvest as good, but she believes she can have an even better one this year. She plans on using future profits from the harvest to send her children to school and to save for the future.

During the 2013 Long Rains season, each group member will receive ½ an acre of agricultural inputs on credit. Margaret’s group will receive a total of five acres' worth of inputs on credit.
