Annie's story

Annie is 54 years old and lives in Kakata, the capital city of Margibi County, which is the highest-producing rubber plantation area in Liberia. Annie is married and has four children, ages 17 to 32 years. Only one lives at home and is in school. Annie was not fortunate enough to attend school. Annie has been involved in business for the past 21 years, and presently she is selling food items, such as salt, rice, oil, pepper, vita, onion and tomato, in the local market. She started this business with 5,000 LRD given to her by her mother, and she learned this trade from her, also. Annie is requesting a loan to purchase more salt, rice, oil, pepper, vita, onion and tomato, for her business. Her future plan is to build a house.
