Sokthou's Group

A loan of $125 helped a member to buy materials to construct a decent latrine.

Sokthou's Group's story

Sokthou is from a rural village in the Sa Ang district of Kandal province, Cambodia. He is a 25-year-old married father of two children, both of whom are dependents and still in school.

Sokthou has struggled to feed his children by farming rice, raising chickens and working for others for a fee, while his wife sells grocery items. The current business earns his family about 10,000 KHR per day to meet the family’s needs.

Sokthou is just with VisionFund this cycle. He is now leading his group of three to ask for a loan. As the leader, Sokthou is going to use his portion to buy materials to construct a decent latrine. He'll need cement, bricks, a latrine pan, etc.

He hopes that this loan will enable his family to have a clean latrine for daily use so as to improve and have a healthy standard of living.
