A loan of $650 helped a member to purchase hybrid seed and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize, millet, and sorghum.

Faulu B Group's story

Wilson’s group has 10 farmers and is located in Bungoma South District. Wilson is pictured on the right of Faulu B Group with his hand raised. Wilson is pictured among the three men and seven women of his group. He will receive input loans capable of planting ½ an acre with sorghum, millet, and maize. Wilson is a new One Acre Fund farmer and is excited for the 2013 Long Rains season. He joined One Acre Fund in order to gain access to hybrid seed and fertilizer and learn new methods of planting maize.

Wilson described his harvest last year as good, but hopes he can have an even better one as a One Acre Fund farmer. He plans on using future profits from the harvest to send his children to school, invest in livestock, and make bricks. During the 2013 Long Rains season, each group member will receive ½ an acre of agricultural inputs on credit. Wilson’s group will receive 5 acres worth of inputs on credit.
