A loan of $1,300 helped a member to buy drinks.

Jovenes Emprendedores Group's story

Greetings from Perú! This is the group Young Entrepreneurs. Carmen Luz is one of the group members. She is 46, separated and has two grown children. She knits winter sweaters, scarves and hats. She started this business 6 years ago, learning from one of her friends who does it. On the weekends she sells drinks in a park near her house. Thanks to her work she has been able to help her kids so that they can continue their studies. The loan will be invested in the purchase of drinks for the summer, since she wants to increase this business to meet her demand. Carmen Luz feels very happy about everything she has achieved, and in the future would like to stop selling on the street and have a store of her own to sell drinks. Carmen Luz is very grateful for the loan and for the Kiva investors, who make it possible for her and her group to get their loans. In the photo she is the fourth from left, in a striped gray and pink t-shirt.
