A loan of $850 helped to buy truckloads of firewood.

Souleymane's story

Born in November 1964 in the Doumanani prefecture of Sikasso, Mister Souleymane is polygamous with 2 wives and is father to 11 children who live with his family in Hamdallaye, one of the popular neighborhoods of the town of Sikasso (third administrative region of the republic of Mali).

After having managed several businesses without success, about two years ago Mister Souleymane started businesses which generate revenue, notably the sale of firewood which he buys in Denderso and surrounding areas. He is much requested by his clientele for the quality of his wood. To satisfy his clientele which is growing more and more, he decided to join the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso with which he is on his fourth individual loan and all the previous loans were correctly repaid.

With this fourth loan he plans to buy 10 "10 ton" truckloads of firewood.

With this loan he envisions making a monthly profit of 150,000 FCFA which will be used to contribute to the family expenses, pay the interest on his loan and invest the rest in his business.
