Jamila's Group's story

Jamila is a 52-year-old independent woman. Since 2002, she has been running a vegetable shop in the area of Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Jamila is the mother of 2 sons, one a shopkeeper and the other working privately.

Jamila purchases fresh vegetables from the field and sells them in the main market. Currently she is interested in purchasing a variety of vegetables but finds it difficult due to financial constraints. Therefore, as a member of a seven-person lending group, Jamila has requested a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan. She will use the profit from the loan to open a new vegetable shop in the main market. Jamila sends very best wishes and many thanks to all Kiva staff.
