A loan of $400 helped to buy tools.

Pedro Alfonso's story

In the hot district of Santiago, Ica, Peru, lives Pedro, 47. He’s the father of a little 11-year-old and he goes out daily to work in order to offer him a proper life and to be able to cover household expenses. Because of the limited economic resources his family had, Pedro was only able to study up to fifth year of secondary school which is why he’s been a very hard worker since he was very young.

Pedro works every day in his auto body shop; he works about 10 hours daily and can take care of up to 15 customers per day. He believes he does well in his business because he’s kind to his customers and above all because he’s honest and punctual with his work.

Pedro’s very happy and grateful for the support Kiva lenders provide him because thanks to the help he’s been given he will be able to buy tools like Stillson wrenches, pliers, soldering guns and latex, among others, thus having materials on hand needed to do his work and improve customer service. With this, he will continue striving to make his greatest dream reality: to have a space of his own for his workshop and to be able to give his son a good profession.
