María Salvadora's story

Doña María Salvadora is native to La Palma district located 7 km from the municipality of El Sauce. The region is a hamlet surrounded by flowering mountains and deep rivers, and despite the fact that its population is very small they are united in working for the well-being of the community. This brave woman carries herself with a feisty and hardworking attitude. Despite her age of 56 years, every day she makes the effort to work to help her husband with the household expenses. Her business consists of selling clothes for all types. She has made a living in this trade for 34 years, and this work has allowed her to prepare her son professionally. She rises daily at 5 in the morning to go out and make visits from house to house, walking through the district to offer her products to potential buyers. Since the school season is approaching, she is requesting a loan for the purchase of school shirts, school trousers, school skirts, shoes, underwear and pants for women, in order to satisfy the demand of her customers.
