A loan of $1,050 helped to restock her business with merchandise such as clothing, pants, shorts, shirts, t shirts, perfumes, underwear, and camisoles.

Angelica Johanna's story

Angélica, 32, is single and from the department of Managua, located in the center of the country. In her free time, she likes to listen to music and spend time with her family. She was unable to attend college for lack of money, but she would have liked to study journalism and communication. Her spirit and desire to get ahead led her to her business selling general merchandise: clothing, pants, shorts, shirts, t shirts, perfumes, underwear, and camisoles.

She has been in business as a street vendor for three years. Angélica works 10 hours daily, happily carrying her 15 kg bag of merchandise to different local areas where she has regular and prospective customers. She will use this loan as working capital to restock her business by buying merchandise so that her income increases. Angélica thanks the Kiva lenders, whose support gives low-income people who live in poor countries like Nicaragua the chance to pursue decent work.
