A loan of $250 helped to buy medicine and pay for medical exams.

Martha Isabel's story

Martha Isabel is 27 and was born in La Palma district, which is 7 km from the city of El Sauce. Despite being raised on a farm, she has a vision to get ahead by following a profession. She is studying to be an elementary teacher because she is passionate about teaching children, especially those modest children who live in the countryside and need more support, to read and write. She is a fighter, who tries to face all the difficulties life presents, such as holding classes in an area far from her house. Every day she gets up at 4 a.m. to get to the little school on time.

At her young age, she has a family comprised of her husband and young son, for whom they work together to provide a decent home. She has been an elementary teacher for two years. She is applying for a loan to buy medicine and pay for medical exams so that her health will improve. Recently, she has been ill and unable to pay these expenses. She is asking that Kiva lenders, through Ceprodel, grant her this small loan, since she will not be able to cover these important household expenses without their help.
