A loan of $300 helped to buy a tent and thermoses for coffee.

Jovanny's story

Jovanny, 38, is the mother of four minor children for whom she strives untiringly to guarantee a good quality of life and an education. Because of her difficult economic situation, however, this woman devoted herself to selling food as a street vendor. She managed to acquire some capital and buy a fast-food cart, open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily, where she sells "empanadas" [turnovers].

Her chores as a housewife and mother are exhaustive, so her job has been a big blessing because it doesn't demand all of her time. One of her biggest challenges has been to struggle against the weather changes that affect her town this time of year, which has caused the deterioration of the tent that protects her from the rain.

She hopes her sales increase, to improve her living conditions.
