Justine's story

Justine is a 35-year-old farmer in Kitale county, Kenya. She lives with her husband and eight children. who are all schooling. She has been in farming for the past 20 years, producing milk, maize and vegetables, which she sells at the local market in her area. She sells second-hand clothes as an additional source of income.

Justine is requesting a 41,600 KES loan from Juhudi Kilimo to buy and insure a dairy cow, which will provide her with more milk and earn her extra income that will help boost her living standards and pay for her children’s education. She hopes to have five good-quality dairy cows in the next five years.

Lack of a readily available market and poor roads are her major challenges in farming.
