Teresita is a married woman with three children. She is 55 years old and is from Tangub City, Misamis Occidental, Philippines. Teresita owns and operates a farm, planting and harvesting corn for sale to earn a living. She's been 15 years in this business. Each month, she earns 13,500 Philippines pesos (PHP) doing this type of business. She requested a loan of 16,000 PHP to purchase fertilizer such as manure.
In 2010, Teresita became a member of GDMPC. In the future, Teresita wants to make improvements to her house and to finish the studies of her children.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
