A loan of $400 helped purchase a variety of clothes.

Daria's story

Daria is 56 years old and a widow. She has a working spirit and the pride of having raised her 20-year-old daughter, Lita, to be an entrepreneurial woman equal to Daria herself. She has a home made of basic materials that she built with her late husband. Always bound to her work, she sells a variety of foods at several fairs and markets. She has almost 20 years of experience in this business and has, thanks to her work, always achieved the best conditions. According to what she said, she chose to go into this business because it is straightforward and because she has good seasoning that she uses in the meals that are eaten most often among her diners, such as rice with chicken, pickles, and others. Regardless, there are days when sales fall short, and so she finishes the day with little income that barely justifies the expenses she incurred to prepare the food. In order to have some more work, she is thinking of going into traveling clothing sales in certain areas of town. For this, she needs capital, authorized by her financial institution. She says her ultimate goal is to one day open a store that sells clothes for all ages because she feels this type of merchandise will never go out of style. At this time, she needs 1,000 nuevos soles to purchase clothing wholesale and to sell clothes in her free time in various parts of the town.
