A loan of $800 helped to buy a chainsaw.

Cayetana's story

Fifty-two year old Cayetana lives with Pablo, 54 years old and together they have three children, whom they provided with the best they could. They have a home made of wood.

Since she was a girl, Cayetana always played an active role in her parents’ agricultural activities, such as the production of organic cocoa, coffee and other bread products. Thanks to this she learned the family trade and managed to acquire plots of land, along with Pablo.

Having done this work almost all her life, Cayetana is happy with it and comments that this is what she was born for.

On many occasions the wet season has been a problem, stopping work when she has found that the plots of land were like clay after the rains.

Cayetana chose to invest in plots of land following loans from MFP. The plots allowed her always to have work and to have solid earnings that made it possible to provide her children with a stable upbringing.

As part of her plans to improve her quality of life with her partner, Cayetana has come to MFP in order to do work on their wooden house.

In the long term, she would like to accumulate capital and acquire a mototaxi with which she hopes to earn more in addition to her work in agriculture. On this occasion, she would like 2000 Nuevo Soles to buy a chainsaw for cutting solid wood and for remodelling the front of her house.
