Jumwa's Group's story

Jumwa is a small-scale farmer of cowpeas, cassava and maize. She is raising her seven children on her own, as her husband has passed away. Jumwa wants to be a KOMAZA tree farmer because she says she "heard that this was a project that could change my life and my family. If the trees are well grown, I hope to get money out of the sale of the trees and have a good home and a milk cow." She wants to build a permanent house and begin a poultry keeping business. Jumwa says, "My favorite part [of the KOMAZA program] is tree planting and learning how to do it on my own." She remarked that she appreciates what KOMAZA is doing.
