Tophil's story

Tophil acquired a loan of UGX.500,000. He is aged 42 years, married with two children, both in school. He is in the business of brewing local wine out of plantains, locally known as 'matooke'. He works every day of the week. His additional income is from agriculture. The business was started in 2004 to help him earn a living. He resides in Iraramira central in Ishaka; his clients are people who drink local wine in and around the neighbouring villages. He has hopes of building a permanent house in future. His challenge is that most of his clients do not pay on time and this has made his business stagnate. He is hardworking and honest.
