La Ilusion Group's story

The group La Illusion is a group made up of women only who all know each other very well because they live in the same community where people are known by their businesses, large or small. The members of the group say that they chose their name because for them, when they were offered credit, it was a new dream to begin their businesses or productive activities and positions and its working very well because now they have productive activities.

Juana who is a member of the group says that she is 59 years old and married to Fidel who works as a builder and they have a family with grown independent children. Juanita, as she says warmly, raises and fattens pigs for sale and this time she is asking for a loan from the institution to buy feed and hominy for her animals because she has 10 pigs and it is difficult to feed each and every one. Juanita says that she began her business because Fidel’s work was only seasonal and during the long seasons without work she needed some way to help her husband with household expenses and school fees for the children who were small, and there were too many expenses. Juanita says that the only difficulty is not having a good pigpen to keep her pigs in good condition, and because of the space she can’t raise more livestock, but she and her husband Fidel have the goal of having a bigger homestead in order to have more animals.

Juanita and the members are very happy and grateful to the institution because for them it will be a big help to continue their productive activities. Agustina will invest in feed for her calves, Leocadia, Sara, and Dolores will invest in lambs, Socorro in clothing sales, Rosa and Elena will invest in pigs, and finally Carmen will invest in sweets for sale.
