Xavier, age 40, is single and has three children, 9 to 16 years old. All three of his children are attending school. He is representing the La Bienfaisance 1 group. Xavier has a small grocery boutique where he sells a variety of food products. He will use the loan proceeds to buy sugar, oil, rice, salt and tomatoes. His business strategy is to be very nice to the customers and to offer friendly and helpful service. Xavier has received three previous loans from HOPE Congo, Kiva's partner. He has a good repayment record. Xavier wants to continue to grow his business and build a large space for his store. He wants all of his children to go to school and be well educated.
