Burahim's story

Burahim is 35 years old and lives in the town of Iganga in the Iganga region of Uganda. He is married and has one child. For the past two years, Burahim has been working hard to manage his hardware store, which sells glass, tiles and iron sheets.

To help expand his business, Burahim has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more iron sheets that will increase his stock, and will help Burahim to generate greater profits and meet his customers' needs. Burahim hopes that in the future he will be able to meet his customers' needs.

Burahim is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Burahim who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
