Montserrat Group's story

This group, called “Montserrat”, is composed of 19 members whose principal businesses are selling clothing and food. They live in the city of Puerto Montt, in southern Chile.

Maria Alejandra, in the photo the 3rd from right to left, wearing the short-sleeved jacket with black flowers, has for the last 10 years made and sold pastries. First, she learned from her family, then took courses in baking pastries and banquet preparation. Maria Alejandrina works from home and in market fairs. She advertises her products by flyers and on the internet. She buys her ingredients in wholesale supply stores. Maria Alejandra will use her loan to purchase ingredients such as flour, eggs, sugar, flavorings, etc.

Her dream is to expand her business and to have a coffee shop. What motivates her to continue in business is to have security that she can count on, with the help of Fondo Esperanza through loans and advice. Maria Alejandra is married and has a 19-year-old daughter who studies in the university.

Maria tells us that what she likes most about Fondo Esperanza is its good ambients, cordiality, good treatment, and the good relations that exist there.
