Malambo, Colombia / General Store

A loan of $650 helped to buy canned goods, basic needs, refreshments, tubers, vegetables, etc.

Lisset's story

Lisset is 38 years old and lives in the municipality of Malambo where she has store selling basic goods, meals and refreshments for ten years. They saved and bought a plot of land to set up their business. She works here everyday making sales from 7 am until 9 pm to sell to her customers in small quantities using her measuring units. On a daily basis she does what she can with the economic opportunities.

Lisset's main goal has become to have a well stocked store with excellent customer service. She wants her business to be the best store in the area. Her greatest challenge has been not having enough capital to achieve her goal. This is her reason for requesting a Kiva loan, with which she will buy canned goods, basic needs, refreshments, tubers, vegetables, etc. She projects that her loan will be a good investment because she will buy goods that are always in demand so that she is always well stocked, helping her to consolidate. Here, her clients satisfy their needs, desires and consumption habits.
