Sinoko Wake Up A Group's story

Sinoko Wake Up A Group is located in Bungoma South District. It is a group of seven women and five men, and it is led by Cyrus, who is pictured on the right with his hand raised. He is receiving an input loan for ½ an acre of maize, millet and sorghum cultivation. Cyrus is a new One Acre Fund farmer and is excited for the 2013 Long Rains season. He joined One Acre Fund in order to gain access to hybrid seeds and fertilizer and access to the best input prices.

Cyrus managed to harvest 12 bags of maize on one acre of land last year. As a One Acre Fund farmer, he hopes to harvest even more. He plans to use the money that he earns from his next harvest to send his children to school and repair his home. For the 2013 Long Rains season, Cyrus’ group members will take input loans of ½ an acre each. In total, this group will receive input loans for use on six acres of land.

In this group: Cyrus, Caroline, Dennis, Jackline, Jentrix, Paul, Phostine, Jane, Evans, Adelaide, Timothy, Gladys
