Zubaida's story

Zubaida is 47 years old, married, and has children. She has enjoyed the work of making Parandas for many years. Parandas are considered as a traditional hair accessory in Pakistan. Women use them for a traditional look on special occasions such as Eid (a holiday) and weddings. Zubaida makes beautiful Parandas, especially for bridal hairstyles.

Zubaida initiated her business with the support of Kashf Foundation. Taking a loan from Kashf helped her account for expenses she thought she could not afford. Zubaida is requesting a loan for 25,000 PKR, which she will use to buy raw material including colorful threads, beads, mirrors, and pearls for embellishment. This would help in attracting more customers. She desires to utilize her revenue on the well-being of her children. Zubaida is striving hard to meet her family's expenditures. She is responsible for providing them with good food, clothing, and education.
