A loan of $650 helped a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize, millet, and sorghum.

Ndolekho Group's story

Isaac’s group has 10 farmers and is located in Bungoma South District. Isaac is pictured on the right of Ndolekho Group with his hand raised. Isaac is pictured amongst the three men and seven women of his group. He will receive input loans capable of planting half an acre with millet, sorghum and maize. The 2013 Long Rains season will be Isaac’s first season with One Acre Fund. He joined this year in order to access the best input prices and to improve his farming techniques with the One Acre Fund method.

Isaac managed to harvest six bags of maize on one half acre of land last year. As a One Acre Fund farmer, he hopes to harvest even more. He hopes that his profits from the 2013 Long Rains season can be used to send his children to school and save for the future. During the 2013 Long Rains season, each group member will receive half an acre of agricultural inputs on credit. Isaac’s group will receive five acres' worth of inputs on credit.
