Godfrey's story

Godfrey, aged 41 years, acquired a loan in the amount of 2,000,000 UGX. He is married with five children, all in school. He has a tea plantation and he sells green tea leaves to the factory. He works for 12 hours six days every week. He also earns from rearing goats and domestic birds for additional income.

Godfrey started this enterprise in 1995, in rural Bushenyi, with the purpose of earning income to make a living. The loan purpose is to buy organic manure and fertilizers to boast tea production. He sells his tea directly to the factory,and he hopes to lead a better life in future.

The challenges include inadequate manure which causes him to use fertilizers, labour shortages, and price fluctuation.

He is hardworking and honest and he hopes through hard work he will reap big.
