Dora Clemencia's story

Dora, 52, lives in the city of Cartagena, a historic and beautiful city in the Caribe region of Columbia. She set up her home there and lives with her partner and their two children, aged 18 and 22. She runs a beauty salon, which primarily offers haircuts and treatments to ladies, gentlemen and young people. She also sells products from specialist magazines and promotes perfumes, lotions, toiletries, dyes etc. which she recommends to her customers to complement their purchase. Her working day starts at 6 in the morning and ends at 9 in the evening, Monday to Sunday. All her effort is motivated by a desire to improve the well being of herself and her family. She is applying for this loan, the first loan that she has had with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, which she will use to buy hair products, hair dressing supplies, creams and lotions. Her sales are made on a credit and cash basis to a customer base that she has built up since she started her business 10 years ago. Her current goal is to support her children so that they can study at university and in the future she would like to have her own store, these are her main challenges in life.
