A loan of $3,275 helped a member to buy condiments, milk and coffee for her small retail business.

Mame's Group's story

This group, created on December 1, 2008, consists of women who come from the same village and who are united by good social and professional relationships.

Mame is the group's representative: she is 39 years old, married, and the mother of five children (two boys and three girls). In the photo, she is the woman raising her hand and wearing a flowery green wax-print dress.

With her new loan of 250,000 CFA francs, she will buy the following products: pimento, pepper, salt, "bouillon cubes", milk, coffee and sugar. She will resell her goods for retail, in her village.

The profits from this loan will allow her to help her husband cover some of the family daily needs, such as the purchase of rice and oil.

In this group: Mame, Coumba, Guemou, Marie, Ndebane
