A loan of $625 helped to buy replacement parts for televisions, radios, sound equipment, and tools.

Juan Feliz's story

Juan, 67, lives in the beautiful, historic city of Cartagena with his wife and two children, ages 18 and 22. He has a workshop here, where he services, sells, and repairs electronics such as televisions, radios, and DVDs, and which he promotes on local billboards. His business is open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. His customers are mostly neighbors and friends, who come to him because they know what he offers and the quality of his service.

Juan has received five loans from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, with which he has managed to improve his business and increase his profits. He is applying for a Kiva loan to buy replacement parts for televisions, radios, sound equipment, and tools that will help him in his daily work. His goal is to have more customers so that he can increase his income and achieve his dream to offer his children a quality education. His great challenge is to remain current with technology, since he can't control the ongoing changes and must adapt to stay in business.
