Kimugui B Group's story

Agnes' group, Kimugui B Group, consisting of 12 farmers, is located in Bungoma South District. Agnes is pictured on the right with her hand raised. She will receive input loans for planting ½ an acre with sorghum, millet, and maize.

Agnes joined One Acre Fund during the Long Rains 2009, and is now enrolling in the Long Rains 2013 season. She joined One Acre Fund so that she could rest assured of reliable input delivery and access to the best input prices.

Agnes reports that before One Acre Fund, she was able to grow about four bags of maize per ½ acre, but with her One Acre Fund input loan during Long Rains 2012, she harvested 11 bags per 1/2 acre! She hopes that her profits from the 2013 Long Rains season can be used to improve her family’s living standard and donate some bags to the orphans.

For the 2013 Long Rains season, Agnes’ group members will take input loans of ½ acre each. In total, this group will receive input loans for use on 6 acres of land.
