Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Gulbahor's story

Gulbahor lives in the city of Tursun-zoda. She is 29 years old, married, and has 4 small children. Her husband works in animal husbandry, and earns his living and supports his family in this way. Gulbahor raises crops in the fertile plot of land next to her house. She mainly raises vegetables and has been doing this for the last 15 years. Apart from this activity, she provides seamstress services from home, where she fulfills orders to sew national dresses. She has rich experience in this field, having begun sewing at the age of 15.
Gulbahor is seeking a loan to buy wheat seed. She wants to plant it so she can harvest a good crop for selling.
