Peter's story

Peter lives in the Kongowea area of Central province, Kenya. He is a married businessman, running a hardware store which has been in operation for two years. Peter also runs a print shop. Peter learnt about Milango through a friend who invited him to the group and he joined with the aim of accessing credit to better his business operations. The main challenges he faces are price fluctuations and the high cost of transport. Peter is applying for a loan of 41,900 Kenya shillings to buy retail stock like battery water, acids, block cylinders etc. His extra income from the loan will be added to the savings to expand the business. His future plan in five years time is to open another hardware store in the area.
