Betania Group's story

Ester, who is in her early 70s, is a widow. She has six children who are grown-ups. She has also got four grandchildren who are still going to school. She has been a food vendor for ten years now. She works from 6.00 AM to 8.00 PM daily and is able to make a small monthly profit.

This will be her eleventh loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to cater for herself, bought a radio, sofa set, TV set, a plot of land, built a small house in her village, bought a bed, a mattress, restocked the missing items in her food stock, covered household expenses and has paid back all her loans successfully. She will use the loan she is requesting to buy more stock of food and sell to more customers. She dreams of building her own house.

Esther will share this loan with her loan group "BETANIA" which has a total of 16 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
