A loan of $600 helped to buy fertilizers, compost, insecticides, balanced fish feed, and earthworms.

Carmen Ventura's story

Carmen is 39 years old, in a common-law relationship, and has six children. She lives with her companion and their children in Terrenal District, which is part of the canton of Pueblo Viejo in Los Ríos Province.

Carmen is a member of the Communal Bank “Terrenal”, which is located in Terrenal District and the canton of Pueblo Viejo. The members are farmers and livestock breeders.

Carmen is a farmer who grows corn, but she also has a small trout pond. With this loan, she will be able to buy supplies such as fertilizers, compost, and insecticides for combating pests and diseases that impact her crops. She will also buy balanced feed and earthworms for the fish. Her purchases are conducted in the city of Pueblo Viejo.

Carmen dreams of having money for building a house since her family currently lives in a rental property. In her free time, she enjoys watching television and cooking traditional dishes on Sundays for her family.
