A loan of $600 helped to buy pastries, candies, cookies, and ink for his copier.

Julio Alberto's story

Luis is 28 years old. He has a business where he offers copying services and sells candies and general food. He started his business 1 year ago hoping to generate new income on his own and filling the need in the neighborhood for a copying service. Little by little, he added food, taking into account the potential of the children who had nowhere to go to buy candy because the stores were far away. His goal is to grow and that is why he went to Fundación Mario Santo Domingo to apply for a Kiva loan, the first loan that he has taken out with this organization. With it, he will buy pastries, candy, cookies and ink for his copier. Luis is a hardworking young man. He starts his working activities around 10 in the morning until 8 at night Monday through Sunday. He does this to improve his quality of life little by little and make his business into his family's main source of income.
