A loan of $200 helped to buy coffee husks and mulches for mulching the plantation.

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth is a widow. She has four children, all of whom are at school. She is a coffee farmer and works eight hours a day for six days a week. She also teaches in a nearby primary(elementary) school. She started her business in 2010 in a village called Ndaragi and her clients are people who buy on a small scale. The loan purpose is to buy coffee husks and other crop residues for mulching her plantation. She hopes to become a model farmer for coffee growing for all the other farmers in the area. Her challenge is an insufficient labour force for the farm. She is hardworking and honest. She hopes to expand the project.
