Rosa Ramona Asunción's story

The communal bank Por Un Nuevo Amanecer meets every 15 days in Montecristi, a region known for it's pre-colonial culture and it's crafts, which have been recognized on a national and international level. It's the home of the famous Panama hat.

This is where 52 year old Rosa lives. She has a domestic partner and 5 grown children. Her spouse can't work due to illness.

Rosa is a feisty woman who has always like to stand on her own and earn her own money. She has a business selling lunches and snacks from her home. The same food is also delivered all over the city by van. Rosa has one person working with her who is responsible for making deliveries and who gets paid for this. Every day they deliver 70 lunches and 30 snacks. She has been running her business for 25 years and has a lot of customers because she makes delicious food.

This loan is to buy rice, meat, fish and other provisions for preparing the food. Rosa has been a member of this community bank for 10 years and she likes the loans because they always help her very much. Her dream is to continue running her business.
