Ventanas, Ecuador / Agriculture

A loan of $600 helped to buy supplies like fertilizers, manure, insecticides, and balanced feed.

Elizabeth Del Carmen's story

Elizabeth, age 39, is divorced and has two children. She lives with the children in the Mina de Piedra neighborhood in the Ventanas canton in the Los Ríos province.

She belongs to the 30 De Noviembre communal bank, which is in the Mina De Piedra neighborhood in the Ventanas canton. She works in agriculture and with livestock. Elizabeth grows corn and raises barnyard animals like chickens and pigs.

With the loan she will be able to buy supplies like fertilizers, manure, and insecticides to avoid pest infestations and illnesses. She will also buy balanced feed for the animals. She will make her purchases in the city of Ventanas.

Her dream is to buy land in order to continue planting and increasing her production.

She really likes to celebrate the Carnival festivities and going for walks in other cities with her children.
