A loan of $400 helped to buy a variety of fruits.

Ruth's story

Ruth, 21, is a woman with many dreams and a determination to get ahead. She lives with Delmer who is a teacher, and they have two children, ages 11 and 4. They live comfortably in their own house which they bought through much effort.

Ruth sells regional fruit, such as melons and watermelon. In the morning she sets up a table out in front of her house where she attends to her customers cordially. In the afternoons, she sells beauty products from catalogues to relatives and friends. This is how she earns a living every day to get ahead and help her husband with the household expenses. For now, business is going well and in the future she hopes to have a store. This is her fifth loan through MFP and she is grateful for the financial support so she can meet her goals.

She plans to use the 1,000 PEN loan to buy a variety of fruits in bulk at lower prices in an aim to increase her profits.
