A loan of $675 helped to buy beer and soft drinks wholesale.

Patricia's story

Patricia is 50 years old and lives southwest of the city with her husband and two children ages 19 and 22 years. Their income is generated by an 18-year-old business, in which she sells soft drinks and during weekends beer. This work helps her achieve more comfort in her home. Her workday begins from 12 in the day until 10 at night. Her neighbors and friends, who are her principal customers, have asked her to add food to her business and this is exactly what she plans to do, since she has gathered a market directing a demand which she can address.

This is the reason why she is requesting a Kiva loan, with which she will buy beer and soft drinks. She will take advantage of the upcoming Carnaval festivals and the associated festive activities by boosting her supply, which will permit her to earn a bit more.

Patricia is a very hardworking woman whose workday begins from 12 in the day and ends at 10 at night or later if necessary. Her goal is to achieve a good position in her neighborhood and to convert her business into a wholesale and cash point of sale for food and refreshments. Each time, she is better able to support the sustainability of her home, and increase her possibilities of a life filled with prosperity.
