A loan of $1,125 helped to pay school fees for his children.

Edmund's story

Edmund is an old man of 61 from Kashongi, a village in the Kiruhura district. He is respectfully referred to as "Mzee", a word that means old man.

He is married to four wives, and each wife has six children. Out of the 24 children, 20 are in school. In the photograph is Edmund and one of his wives.

He is also the best farmer in his village, with good agricultural-income-generating projects ranging from coffee farming, banana farming, pig and goat rearing. This has enabled him to take care of his big family, pay school fees for the children, build houses to accommodate them, and provide other basics.

He requested for a loan of 3,000,000 UGX to help him pay part of the school fees; this loan will be paid back using proceeds from his farm.
