Youssef is a 37-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and five children. One is working and the others are still attending school.
Youssef works in his town and has his own vegetables shop. He makes good income from his product sales, but he suffers financially, especially during disturbing weather, since the selling rate is very low at this period. This was the motive for him to request a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. Youssef plans to purchase a fair quantity of vegetables for his business so as to increase his sales, and thus his income.
This will be Youssef’s first Kiva loan. He is sure that it will help him achieve remarkable growth in a short term.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
