A loan of $1,000 helped a member to purchase seedlings and fertilizer and to pay for technical training and tree farm maintenance support.

Sidi's Group's story

Sidi is a 34-year-old farmer and mother of seven. She grows maize and green grams and keeps a few goats and hens. Sidi's businesses are challenged by drought, which causes frequent food shortages, and the fluctuating prices of farm products. Sidi plans to use the profits from her new KOMAZA tree farm "to educate the children, build a good house in the future, and have money to buy more food."
