A loan of $2,100 helped to improve her work are and better organize her supplies.

Sabiha's story

One year has gone by and Sabiha continues to be the busy seamstress and tailor she was when RI staff visited her for her previous loan. She is now 48 years old, and continues to set a great example for her 5 children whom she raises alone since her husband died.

With the loan she previously took from Relief International - Microfinance Iraq she was able to purchase an embroidery machine, allowing her to provide her customers with a greater variety of services. She would now like to make some improvements to her work area, to better organize her supplies and have a more pleasant time while she spends hours at her machines. To improve her work area she is now taking a loan in the amount of 2100 USD.

Based on the political and social challenges of lending in Iraq, personally identifiable information about this borrower has been altered for their protection. RI-Iraq appreciates Kiva lenders' consideration of these challenges and encourages lenders to continue their support for Iraqi borrowers.
