A loan of $2,400 helped to paint the walls of the bakery.

Abaz's story

Abaz is a 47-years-old Iraqi man. He is married and the father of three children.

Abaz is the owner of a bakery where the typical flat bread is prepared and purchased by families in dozens at a time for all meals of the day. The bread is a simple dough, stretched out on a small pillow which is also used for throwing the thin raw dough into the fire, making it stick to the side of the hot cave to bake in just a few minutes.

Abaz has been the owner of this shop for a year now, and would like to renew the shop by painting it, ensuring it meets the continuously updated requirements set by government standards for food production facilities.
