Teresita De Jesus's story

Teresita is a humble woman aged 53. She is originally from Jinotepe, but now lives in León, She is single and has four grown-up children.

Teresita is a businesswoman, selling homemade tortillas and beans. She started this business aged 32 in order to make a living. The idea came to her of selling tortillas, which she began with 5 pounds of maize to make homemade tortillas. This business makes her a lot of money and has enabled her to move forwards with her family. This is her first business, and she is helped by her daughter.

Her goal is to continue expanding her business. Over time she started to sell beans, because her own customers requested this.

Teresita dreams of fixing her humble home and improve the kitchen where she prepares her tortillas and beans. She needs the loan to buy maize, firewood and beans. She believes that this loan will help her to grow her business, increasing her sales so that she earns more. Her future plan is to set up another business such as a grocery store so that she can make more money. One of her next aims is to repay this loan and then request another.
